How can I be sure your clothes are sweatshop free?
We are in business to add another name to the roll call of ethical designers who refuse to do business with sweatshop owners.  We are 100% sweatshop free; in our MISI store, our clothing blanks are supplied by Mantisworld and certified by BSCI.  In our Skreened store, the clothing blanks are provided by American Apparel, trailblazers for the sweatshop free movement.

How does organic clothing benefit the environment?
All non-synthetic clothing is grown from farmed plants and the use of pesticides has led to massive environmental degradation, permanent pollution of the water supply and serious health consequences for those who work the fields.  Organic farming is kinder to the environment and kinder to humans and animals.

Why have you chosen cotton, rather than, say hemp or bamboo?
I spent a long time researching lots of different fabrics; in the end I decided against bamboo because of the chemical processes involved in turning the plant into clothing and I discarded hemp because of a lack of available unbleached, sweatshop free hemp (plus, I like, couldn’t be bothered, man).  Our cotton is unbleached and grown in Tanzania where it is naturally irrigated by rainwater which is a huge help in reducing our ecological footprint.  A longer explanation of all of this is coming soon.
